Taste

Real FOOD, made by real people.

Remember the taste of a juicy peach or a crunchy apple picked ripe from the tree? Or a sweet tomato plucked straight from the vine? These are the flavours of the Granite Belt – fresh and wholesome like the people who grow them.

Steeped in European culture and production as diverse as its seasons, the Granite Belt is
a foodies' delight from the paddock to the pantry and the plate.

Apart from being the only area capable of producing apples, the Granite Belt is the only region in Queensland that can produce vital crops all through summer including tomatoes, lettuce and cabbage. It is home to over two thirds of Queensland's stone fruit and also produces pears, berries, olives, persimmons, figs, mushrooms and an array of vegetables.

Stock up at Sam's Fruit Shop at Cottonvale and chat to Sam about what's in season – Sam is the local expert and provider of fresh seasonal produce all year round.

Produce Pantry

Fresh produce is grown, preserved and prepared by people passionate about their food. Whether in the kitchens of Italian Nonnas or the stainless steel benchtops of the region's finest chefs, fresh produce is converted into tantalising gourmet delights; from olive oil to jam, cider, chutney, sour dough, preserves, vinegar, cheese and more.

The region also has a reputation for quality wild game-meat, lamb and beef.
