| ART GALLERY
Stanthorpe is home to Australia's largest regional arts competition which is held biennially in February/March on the even years (2008, 2010 etc.) A combination of locally-curated displays and touring exhibitions allows the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery to exhibit a wide variety of works from International and Australian artists, as well as showcasing talents from the Stanthorpe district. Monthly displays also include those specially curated from the region's large permanent collection of traditional and contemporary paintings, works on paper, ceramics, sculpture and fibre artworks. Quality national touring exhibitions present displays varying from contemporary jewellery, ceramics, and noted Australian artists’ displays, to talented youth artists’ works.The Gallery is open from Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and Saturday & Sunday from 1-4pm. Admission is free.

FISHING & BOATING
Storm King Dam via Stanthorpe is a short drive from the centre of Stanthorpe. Usually this is well-stocked with Murray Cod, Yellow Belly, Silver Perch, Spangled Perch and Eel-tailed catfish.
GRANITE...just driving around you'll see some interesting things that the locals have done with Granite from stone walls to fire hearths. At the southern end you can climb/walk the natural grantie formations in Girraween National Park known as The Pryamids or admire to this man-made pyramid on a vineyard in the village Ballandean.
MARKETS
Various markets are held monthly throughout the region, notably the Market in the Mountains which is held at the Stanthorpe Civic Centre on the second Sunday of the month. For the latest on markets please check with the Visitor Information Centre on arrival or phone 1800 SO COOL.
