Queensland's Granite Belt describes the area in Australia's Great Dividing Ranges between Dalveen (to the north of Stanthorpe) and Wallangarra (to the south of Stanthorpe).   The Granite Belt is situated within the area known as the Southern Downs

The Granite Belt includes the many small villages and hamlets along the New England Highway with Stanthorpe as the main commercial centre. Boasting mountains, open skies, clean air, ecotourism destinations and national parks plus an abundance of locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables.  Visitors are attracted by the four distinct seasons, orchards, vineyards and wineries, plus an excellent range of accommodation from backpacker to five star.  Eating out options include fast food and casual cafes through to fine dining

The Granite Belt is a multi-cultural community of approximately 10,000 residents and situated less than three hours by road from Brisbane and the Gold Coast (Qld) making it a popular short break destination.  It is similarly accessible for travellers from or through northern New South Wales and is approximatley three hours drive north of Armidale on the New England Highway.
