Welcome to Rovers Rest, where you can choose your Stanthorpe accommodation from either our cottage guesthouse, or one of four studio units. We are located in the heart of South East Queensland premier wine country, south of Stanthorpe on the Granite Belt.

In order to secure you reservation we require a deposit of one (1) night accommodations to be received with in four (4) days. Payment can be made by mailing a cheque or Money order to Graham King P O Box 131 Glen Aplin QLD 4381or we can organise a direct deposit in to our bank account. A warm welcome awaits you when you choose to stay at RoversRest. The Guest house sleeps up to 8 people. It is situated on 80 Acres, with tranquil surroundings and scenic views.

The accommodation has 2 luxurious Queen size beds and 2 King size single beds, as well as one sofa bed. This superb house has 2 bathrooms, seperate dining room (with a setting for 8 people), a lounge with large fire place and sweeping verandahs with great views of the surrounding countryside.

The RoversRest Studio Units. All units include bathroom, kitchen, setting for 4 and are disabled friendly. Surrounded by natural bush and landscaped gardens, this must be the best place to relax and enjoy the moment.

We are close to Wineries, Restaurants, National Parks and much more.

If you would like to take a wine tour, or have your Restaurant reservations booked ahead, then just let us know. We want your stay to be memorable.

If you like, you can walk to Wineries, only a few hundred metres down the road, or drive to more than 15 wineries within 10 minutes.

The studio units can cater for four per unit (mum and dad and 2 small children) and there are 4 units. Two units have a Queen bed and a sofa bed and Two units have 2 King Single beds and a sofa bed. All units have there own bathroom and kitchen with a fridge, Jug, toaster, microwave and sink with a setting for 4 and a table and chairs for 4.

Each unit also has a tv and stereo. Gas heating warms the units in winter. There is a large communal area which has a 8 seater dining table, 2 couches (sofa beds), a log fire, large television, Stove and BBQ.

Special Requests: • Children are welcome at Rovers Rest with a portable cot available if necessary.

Smiths Vineyard is the perfect place to unwind.

Experience the glorious views from either the B&B in the main homestead or self-catered Shiraz Cottage. Both accommodation options are high set and overlook our vineyard and across the Ballandean valley. The views to the National Parks of Girraween and Sundown are spectacular, particularly at sunset or on a misty winter's morning.

Peter Smith is a former industrial chemist who "retired" from Fiji to plant the vineyard in the 1980s. The property produces classic varieties such as Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon as well as Chardonnay, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc which are sold to neighbouring winemakers.

While Peter was establishing the vineyard his wife Anne - a retired nurse and health care professional - established an elegant homestead to operate as a B&B. Shiraz Cottage was added to the estate in the mid 1990s and is ideal for groups wanting the privacy and space to self cater.

Smiths Vineyard is centrally located in the village of Ballandean, which is itself the epicentre of the Granite Belt wine country.

Anne Smith takes a very personal approach to hospitality but does not intrude on visitors privacy. Discuss how you would like to spend your visit with Anne and she'll share her knowledge of the region and the best it has to offer.

A relaxing rural retreat on 40 acres with plenty of space for two couples or a whole family.  Stylishly furnished with everything you need provided and less than 10 minutes from town. All stays of 3 nights or more receive generous discounts. Grice Lane is a comfortable 3 bedroom house in a secluded rural setting.  Sit back
and relax on the shady verandah, wander around the the private 40 acres or visit nearby wineries. 

The house is stylishly furnished with a well equipped brand new kitchen. It has BBQ,
and everything you need - DVD, a good CD collection, Wood Fire, Espresso Machine, telepone for local calls, books, puzzles and toys.

The bedrooms are 1 queen, 1 double and 1 twin.  A highchair
is available.

Weekends from Friday to Sunday afternoon $350. Mid-week breaks from
Monday to Friday morning $350. There is an additional charge of $40 per night

Is it a train? Is it a house?

Actually it's a trainhouse and it overlooks Harrington Glen's nine acre vineyard south of Stanthorpe.

This makes a great addition to the boutique accommodation on the Granite Belt. The carriage hails from Melbourne and was one of 20 originally purchased from Victorian Railways by a Molong man. In 2007 Harrington Glen's Harry Ireland was taking his grandson to Dubbo zoo and saw this carriage. Harry bought it and spent two years lovingly restoring and converting it. It now provides tourist accommodation for those wanting a very different room with a view in Queensland's wine capital.

The stylishly decorated trainhouse opened in May 2009, features three modern en-suite bedrooms, plus a fully equipped kitchen. The autumn views are spectacular.
